The challenge
The California agency CARB initiated the Clean Truck Check program to regularly verify compliance with emission-relevant limit values for heavy-duty vehicles and ensure this. For this, a diagnostic tool was needed that captures the required data and transmits it directly to a central CARB location for analysis.
The group of affected vehicle owners ranges from individual truckers to large fleet operators. They all need a simple and efficient way to conduct inspections, transmit data, and manage results in a clearly structured manner. For truck operators, time is essential. Vehicle measurements must therefore be quick and reliably transmitted.
Our solution
As an expert in vehicle diagnostics on-board the vehicle, we expanded our Silver Snap-Tool portfolio with a service portal for managing and monitoring test results. This enables every one of our customers to track the status of captured and transmitted vehicle diagnostic data around the clock. The portal is implemented as a cloud solution on Amazon AWS and meets the highest standards of availability, scalability, and confidentiality.
We developed the software in close collaboration with CARB to provide our customers with a secure, user-friendly platform that meets legal requirements for transmitting measurement data. Our customers benefit from the high availability of this system and maximum transparency regarding how their data is processed for the Clean Truck Check. Even during peak loads, e.g., at month-end when meeting deadlines, the system is designed to perform.
Large fleet operators always keep their vehicles in view with the Silver Snap-Tool Portal. Suitable dashboard views and self-user-management functions support them in this. User experience and service orientation take center stage.
