For more than 20 years, RA Consulting has been involved in a lot of forward-looking research projects. Currently, we are a partner of the “RepliCar” project. RepliCar aims to develop reference sensor technology for automated driving (called “Ground Truth”) for environmental sensing using radar, cameras and LiDAR for efficient validation of these sensors. The project participants recently met in Bruchsal for an update.
At the consortium meeting, the project partners presented their latest developments with a focus on ROS. ROS (Robot Operating System) is a framework for robots and has been used for some time in many research projects in test vehicles to simplify the integration of sensors and the development of automated driving functions. The latest version, ROS2, is becoming the new standard in research and is still new territory for us and for many of our partners. At the meeting, participants took the opportunity to exchange valuable experiences, tips and tricks.
